Admission for Prospective Student

The Institute hereby invites interested candidates to apply for admission into its National Innovation Diploma (NID) programmes for the 2017/2018 academic session in the following schools:

School of Technology:
Two-year (full-time) National Innovation Diploma (NID) in:
- Computer Software Engineering
- Security Management and Technology

Interested candidates with the following admission requirements are eligible to apply:
i. Five (5) credit passes in GCE "O" level or Senior Secondary School Certificates (SSCE), NECO, NABTEB at not more than two sittings. The five subjects must include Mathematics, English Language and any three subjects from the following: Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Geography, Agricultural Science, ICT/Computer Studies, Further Mathematics and Statistics.
ii. National Vocational Certificate (NVC, Final) in Computer Studies from an approved Vocational Enterprise Institution (VEI).
In addition to (i) and (ii) above, a minimum score of 100 points with relevant subject combination in the 2017 JAMB-UTME is mandatory

School of Management
Two-year (full-time) National Innovation Diploma (NID) in

Interested candidates with the following admission requirements are eligible to apply:
i. Five (5) credit passes in GCE "O" level or Senior Secondary School Certificates (SSCE), NECO, NABTEB at not more than two sittings. The Credit passes should compulsorily include English Language, (not Literature in English) Mathematics and any three subjects from the following: - Economics, Commerce, Principles of Accounts, Business Methods, Literature-in-English, Government, History, Geography, Civic Education, Statistics, Agricultural Science, Biology, Office Practice, Typewriting and Shorthand.
A minimum score of 100 points with relevant subject combination in the 2017 JAMB-UTME is mandatory

These include;
(i)Persons who have not studied for some time and desire to do so.
(ii)Persons without time for full time study but want to enhance their skills; and so on.

Curriculum Structure:

The structure of the curriculum of all NID programmes consist of four main components. These are: General Education Courses, Foundation Courses, Professional Courses and Supervised Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES). The structure of the programme courses of four semesters of classroom, laboratory and workshop activities in the Institute and period of 3-4 months of Supervised Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES). Each semester shall have 15 weeks duration made up as follows: 13 contact weeks of teaching i.e. recitation, practical exercises quizzes, test, etc; and 2 weeks for examination and registration. SIWES shall take place at the end of the second semester of the first year.
